The season at a glance

How a Nebraska VEX IQ season flows, and how to keep your team's calendar in sync with ours.

A VEX IQ season has a rhythm. Knowing it helps you plan practices, pick events, and not be surprised in February.

The arc of the year

  • A new game every year — VEX reveals the season's game in spring; teams design for it all season.
  • Summer & fall — teams form, register, build. Our summer camps and training events run here.
  • Late fall & winter — competition season — locally that means a mix of scrimmages (low-stakes practice events), league play (evenings across several weeks), and tournaments (the classic one-day event).
  • State Championship — the season's local summit; teams qualify through their event results.

Not every team does everything — one league or a couple of tournaments is a full, satisfying first season.

Keeping up with local events

Everything we host or support is on our events calendar — tournaments, leagues, scrimmages, camps, and training sessions. You can subscribe from the calendar page to get the season feed straight into your own Google/Apple/Outlook calendar, so new events and changes show up automatically.

Planning your team's season

  • Pick a first event that's low-stakes — a scrimmage or an early league night beats a championship for a rookie team.
  • Watch each event's capacity — local events can fill.
  • Check Registering for tournaments for how signup and deadlines work.
