How It Works

The timer runs a continuous cycle to keep practice fields moving smoothly:

  1. Practice Round — Teams get a set amount of time to practice on the field. The timer counts down with visual warnings at 60 seconds (yellow) and 10 seconds (red).
  2. Buzzer — When time is up, a buzzer sounds and the screen turns red with a "Rotate Teams!" message.
  3. Transition Period — A 1-minute transition countdown begins with on-screen instructions for teams to clear the field, grab their controllers, and check for fallen parts.
  4. Next Round — The timer automatically starts the next practice round. The round counter increments so you can track progress.

The timer is optimized for display on a large TV or monitor visible across the venue. Use keyboard shortcuts (Space to start/pause, R to reset) for easy control.

Tips for Volunteers

  • Set up early — Open the timer on the TV before teams arrive and test that the sound is audible across the venue
  • Keep the browser tab active — The timer uses a screen wake lock, but avoid switching tabs or the screen may sleep
  • Keyboard controls — Space to start/pause and R to reset work great with a wireless keyboard near the TV
  • Adjust as needed — If rounds are running long or short, come back to this page and relaunch with different settings
  • Multiple fields — Open a separate browser tab for each practice field if you need independent timers
