Tech teardown is setup in reverse: displays first, then Tournament Manager, then the network. The goal is that the next tech setup crew opens every box and finds exactly what this guide says is in it.
1. Check the Event Partner is finished
Don't shut anything down until the Event Partner says so. Tournament Manager holds the event's results, and the Event Partner may still need it after the last award.
2. The display Pis
- Turn off each Pi and its screen. The Pis don't need shutting down first; just switch them off.
- Pack each Pi back into its own labelled box with its own cables: power supply, HDMI cable and, for field displays, the drivers' monitor's power supply.
- Don't mix cables between boxes. A box missing its HDMI cable leaves a screen dark at the next event.
3. Tournament Manager
- Close Tournament Manager.
- Shut the laptop down properly from its menu, then let it sit at the bottom of the rack.
4. The network
- Turn off the switches on the power strip.
- Unplug the rack bag's power and coil the power cord.
- Leave every cable inside the rack plugged in. It's packed set up, ready for the next event.
- Close the rack bag, with the access point packed back with it.
5. Count the power cords
gainingSTEAM brings the power cords and power strips. Count them back in before they go to the trailer.
