Registration was now open for the 2019 Nebraska/Iowa VEX IQ Regional Championship on Saturday, February 9th at Thomas Jefferson High School in Council Bluffs. All VEX IQ teams registered in Iowa and Nebraska could register through RobotEvents.com for the Middle School and Elementary School divisions.
Volunteer Signup
The event needed volunteers to give students the best possible experience. Time slots ran from 8:00 AM to 4:30 PM on February 9th. No previous robotics experience was required for most positions, and families were welcome to volunteer together. Lunch was provided for all volunteers.
Award Nominations
Two special awards were open for community nominations before the event.
Mentor of the Year Award
The Mentor of the Year recognized a mentor who showed true leadership and dedication to their students — someone who continually exceeded expectations to ensure a safe, enjoyable, and educational experience. Recipients were nominated in writing by students on their team.
Nomination deadline: February 8th
Separate nomination forms were available for Elementary School and Middle School divisions.
Volunteer of the Year Award
The Volunteer of the Year recognized an event volunteer who demonstrated commitment and passion for making VEX IQ events happen in the community.
Nomination deadline: February 8th
These awards were an opportunity for students, parents, and community members to recognize the coaches, mentors, and volunteers who made the VEX IQ program possible in Nebraska and Iowa.
